We’re opening our doors to the public next weekend for our annual plant sale, offering you the chance to pick up some brilliant bargains and top tips, as well as supporting two local hospices.
As we normally only cater to trade customers, the plant sale is a unique opportunity to visit our huge nursery site, and take advantage of the expertise which goes into growing every plant we have here.
We’ll have a large range to choose from, including shrubs and perennials, and a few larger specimens, which you’d be unlikely to find in your average garden centre.
Half the profits from this year’s sale, on Saturday, September 8th, will be split between two local charities – Mary Stevens Hospice in Stourbridge and Compton Hospice in Wolverhampton, which were chosen by our staff.
Boningale staff will be on hand throughout the day, offering a great chance to not just pick up some great plants, but also get some expert advice on planting and aftercare.
Andi Way, Boningale Garden Creations’ design expert and three-time medal winner at Shrewsbury Flower Show, will be among the staff available on the day.
He has worked closely with a number of hospices in the past, having replanted his gold medal-winning garden from the 2010 Shrewsbury Flower Show to Severn Hospice in 2010 and last year’s to Hope House Children’s Hospice in Oswestry.
Most recently, he has been working on replanting some of the borders in the grounds of Compton Hospice.
Corporate fundraiser for Compton, Simon Cater, said: “It is fantastic having Boningale on board with us this year and we appreciate all their hard work, both in the gardens at the hospice and in their fundraising.
“Without people like Andi and his team, we simply wouldn’t be able to continue our vital work across the region.”
Vicki Rowles, head of fundraising at Mary Stevens Hospice said, “We know from previous years how generous Boningale Nurseries have been and the hospice really does appreciate their support. This is a great chance for the local community to buy their much loved plants right from the source whilst supporting the work of their local hospice.”
The plant sale will be open from 8.30am to 4pm on Saturday, September 8th, we hope you can join us.
