Applicants must have a co-operative and flexible disposition, work equally well with others or on their own. They should be self-motivated and willing to take responsibility for their own actions.

Further progression within the company is desirable for the right candidate.
Apprentices will attend Rodbaston College, where they will study alongside a range of students of different ages and horticultural backgrounds.
A specific college tutor will become the assessor and will visit apprentices at work helping gain evidence to complete NVQ units.
The college operates a minibus service from various locations to the college and back again.
On Site Work Experience – Propagation to Sales
Apprentices will gain a broad understanding of the whole nursery process, starting with plant propagation, through containerisation, nursery maintenance, despatch and sales.
Key skills will be highlighted in each area and will provide the backbone of the training.
On the job coaching will help individuals develop within the team and to achieve commercial standards in all areas, whilst working safely and efficiently.
