Boningale has recently introduced a new ‘Employee of the Month’ programme to recognise and reward excellent colleague performance across the business. As the company has expanded across multiple sites over the last few years, it is ever more important to highlight the great work that is going on in different areas, encourage knowledge sharing and promote collaboration across our teams and nursery sites.
This scheme also hugely supports our sustainability plan – as we ask for complex adaptation and improvement across the business, while also growing and providing great value for customers, the delivery of our sustainability goals will always be dependent on the skills and dedication of our people.
Each month our department directors each nominate one of their employees, describing their outstanding contribution, and then an overall winner is awarded a gift voucher and treat. We are proud of all our colleague’s efforts, and this is a great way to find out more about what people are doing in their daily work.

Since joining the business in March 2022, Danielle has played a critical role
in the transformation of The Mill Garden Trials. Danielle gets involved with
the planning and maintenance of the garden which also sees her building a
variety of things such as compost bins! Danielle is never phased by anything
asked of her and always demonstrates pride and enthusiasm in her work.
Jo is a constant in the Purchasing Dept, unphased and undaunted by any challenge, getting to grips with BC and assisting the team day to day but also taking on the consumable purchasing this year. During October Jo has taken on, without question, the problem solving for the Purchasing, Despatch and Goods Inwards Teams and has risen to the challenge. Jo is an invaluable member of the Purchasing Team and her efforts are genuinely appreciated.
Sarah has taken full accountability of her customers and a host of new customers in the reshuffle. She has smashed budget in October and will do so again in November. When we are a staff member or two down, she always steps up to take the slack and keep orders moving through the system. Never complaining and always positive.
With his team Rich Ede is making great progress in catching up on cultural work across the site. For the first time in a long time we have 10L Pyracantha and Trees tied as soon as they have been potted. Springfield tunnel has been squared up and Bransford stock pre-selected ahead of schedule, and now they are making headway in sorting the Specimen beds. In addition to this Rich repeatedly steps in to cover where needed, whether in production sharing his vast experience giving direction and assistance, or as an extra skilled pair of hands in Despatch. Always appreciated if not always communicated.
Rebecca’s professional growth over the last few months has been excellent. Stepping in to continue training colleagues on her own initiative and building a solid rapport with the sales team.
Nerys has successfully completed a number of large projects over recent months. She was responsible for the setup of the new propagation site in Codsall Wood, which has been operational since November 2022. More recently achieving the successful completion of the Environmental Management Systems Audit thanks to her continued hard work and commitment.
Henry has recently stepped into and embraced a completely different role whilst continuing to be helpful and supportive to all. He is always open to learning new skills and areas of the business. Henry is doing a fantastic job covering the Credit Control function.
Alison always completes the task at hand within the required timescales. Going above and beyond often working late/starting early and always happy to help others when needed.
Eleanor is always happy to take on a challenge, following it through to completion. Eleanor embraces change and always completes tasks to the highest of standards whilst demonstrating exceptional customer service.
